Today we visited the site of the Dachau concentration camp outside of Munich.  It was the first, and the model, for the Nazi concentration camp system. This particular camp operated the entire 12 years of Hitler’s reign and took the lives of tens of thousands of innocent political and religious prisoners.  Walking through the gates of the site that so many people entered but never left felt eerie and cold.  I hope this photo captures how raw and horrifying the place is - to this day.
